Happy Birthday Macy & Jesus!

As most of you know we were blessed with a Christmas Baby!! Four years ago Christmas Day!! My how time flies. I think more than ever the realization that you can't slow down time is sinking in. These little ones grow WAY too fast and there is absolutely NOTHING we can do about it.

We celebrated Macy's birthday a few weeks early and had a princess party (pics to come) and then we celebrated again on Christmas Day with family. We always sing Happy Birthday to Macy & Jesus. Many think it is a bad thing to have a Christmas Birthday, but we see it as a privilege. Our child shares a birthday with the King of Kings!

Our sweet Macy is four years old. She is so grown up! She really is my heart. I love her so much and am daily learning how to love and teach this little person the way that the Lord would want me to. She is super creative, LOVES anything princess, is dressed up about 90% of the time, is patient with her little brother, has a concept of Jesus and His love for her, can write her name as well as several other names and LOVES to dance. One of my favorite things that she has said about being 4 that I overheard her and Whit talking about..."Daddy, when I turn 4 will you still hold me?" Whit said, "Baby, I will hold you until you are 20!" So precious...made me cry!

Happy 4th Birthday our Sweet Macy!!

Much to be Thankful for!

My Little Pilgrims

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100

Macy's Prayer Tonight

Tonight we were praying before bed and I asked Macy if there was anything she wanted to pray about. She told me she wanted to pray that Aunt Sis would feel better. (My sis-in-law had her 3rd child last week and we almost lost her in the process). So, she began to pray. "Dear God, please help Aunt Sis to feel better, PLEASE help her to feel better. God, thank you for my home and my toys. And God, next time, could you PLEASE give me a PINK house! Amen"

So precious! I love my sweet hearted little girl. She amazes me with her tenderness and then her little innocent prayers for a PINK house. I mean, what little girl would not want a pink house!! :)

Happy Birthday Brady Boo

My baby boy is 2!
Brady...my passionate, funny, smart, outside-loving, daddy's boy, adventurous, into everything, sweet, truck loving baby boy!!

The past two years have FLOWN by and I am so grateful. Grateful to have the opportunity to have this little man in our lives. He has stretched me and challenged me and made me see the yuck in me more than I EVER thought possible! We have loved every second with him and count each day as a gift (I confess that there are days I need to be reminded of this!). He keeps us on our toes and makes our home so much fun!

We celebrated his special day with family...Little Builder Style!

67 Years

Grannie & Grandpa are Whit's grandparents. They are precious. The whole family got together last night to celebrate their 67th Wedding Anniversary. 67 Years! That is so wonderful!! How awesome it was to all be together to celebrate. There were 36 of us there and 4 people in the family weren't able to be there. It brought tears to my eyes when all 36 of us stood in a circle to say a blessing. After the prayer Grandpa said, "And to think all of this in this room started with a kiss on a hayride." I just had to post these precious people in our lives. Their love for each other and commitment is such a blessing to be a part of!

Conversation of the Day

A little background...Macy did not have a nap today and was in rare form tonight! She wasn't being so kind with her words or having a "happy heart" as we say!....Then this conversation..

Macy: "I'm a princess."
Me: "Well, Princess' don't act like you are acting."
Macy: "Yes, they do!"
Me: "No, they are not ugly and unkind to their mommies."
Macy: "They ARE when their mommy is a mean mommy!"

Dear Lord...please help me...I'm raising a little me!

I Dropped My Heart Off at "School" Today

M & B started Mother's Day Out today, or as we call it "school". They both did great! I honestly did not know what to do with myself having 5 hours alone!!! I feel like I accomplished a lot and hope to accomplish a lot more during that time in the weeks to come. Macy practically skipped in and was so excited about her new teacher and new and old friends. Brady was a little more reluctant! They somehow managed to get him to lay down for over an hour on his nap mat! However, he didn't sleep much and was a sleepy boy when I picked him up. Just had to share a few pictures. They look so big with their backpacks and lunchboxes. I'm not sure I'm o.k. with this whole growing up thing. It is going WAY too fast!

They thought it was a good idea...

My neice was over playing today and I walked in and the girls had given themselves a "makeover" with markers. They were giggling...I was not. I put them both in timeout in seperate rooms and took the markers away. Then (probably against parental rights and wrongs) once I talked about how we only use markers on paper and not on our skin...I took a picture of these cuties! They look like little clowns! Inside I was laughing the whole time!

Our Independent One

Since the day our little B was born he has been independent. We say he is PASSIONATE! He is so fun and a little boy through and through. These days he wants to do most things by HIMSELF...namely eating. If you try to spoon feed him he gets so mad! So, another battle I've chosen to surrender. He feeds himself, with a spoon/fork all the time. Yesterday it was yogurt (which he calls "baby" b/c there is a baby on the side of it). I just have to step back and let it happen and then hose him down!! Not sure if he got ANY in his mouth!

Lots Going On

I realized it has been 2 months since I have last blogged. And, honestly, sometimes I really don't even know who I am blogging for!! I just jumped on the bandwagon and now I'm terrible at keeping up with it. BUT, I shall go on blogging and rambling...for whomever decides to read!

This summer has been the strangest summer. Packed full of clinging to the Lord and trusting his perfect plans. In June, two of my dear friends lost their babies. Both, unexpected...both devastating! They both happened on the same day. My best friend since 2nd grade lost her baby boy the day before I was to fly out to see her (in California) in his crib. My friend that I have worked for for almost 4 years went in for her 37?38? week dr. appt. and they found no heartbeat. Both of these situations are just beyond our understanding. It seems so unfair to have to bury your children. As I have walked through this with these friends...the thing that I have seen the most....we serve an AMAZING, LOVING, BIG God!! I have seen His hand and tender care like I have never seen before. I have seen His people care for these families in ways that only could be possible through Jesus. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about my precious friends and pray fervently for peace and comfort for their hurting hearts. It is so hard to comprehend what they are feeling. I have seen both of them cling to the Lord and bring Him glory even in their pain. I have seen the impact that these two little lives have had even in their deaths. People have been touched by these babies that have never even met these families.

I'm so thankful that I serve a God that promises to walk through the valleys with us. A God that promises to comfort us and heal us. To Him be the glory...even when it doesn't make since or doesn't seem fair. He is good.

On a much lighter (sort of) note...I guess an insignificant note....someone got in my car last night....looked through glove box and console (took nothing) and opened our garage door. Praise the Lord that the door into our house was locked...a family 5 houses down did not have their door locked from the garage to the house and these people roamed their house. Went into all 3 bedrooms (while they slept) and stole several things...including a car in the driveway!!! UGH!! I can't imagine someone walking around in my house and us not hearing them. So scary. The thing that comes to mind, these people must be pretty brave and very lost and desperate. I will pray for them.

Besides these things we have had a great summer. Filled with several lake trips a trip to the beach and lots of good family time. After the experience with my friends it has made me just want to hold a little tighter to my babies and not get so irritated ... I just want to relish in every day that I have with these little lives!! What a blessing!

Stay tuned....I'll fill you in on our lives in another 2 months! :)

So behind!!

Well, I'm officially turning into one of those fair weather bloggers. I realized I haven't put anything on here since April! Here are a few of my favorites from our recent pics to the beach!! We are super busy, enjoying each day with these precious little ones. They are growing and changing by the day and I don't want to miss a second! Enjoy the pics. There is a good possibility you won't here from me again for another month! :)

Bragging on my Man!

Today at my Women's Bible Study our pastor talked a little about dads and their crucial role in their children's lives. One of the things he said that stuck with me was that dads need "floor time" and "face time." Meaning that with their kids it is important that dads are engaged and have face to face time with their kiddos and that they get on the floor with them and play...sometimes rough...especially with boys. He also talked about the importance of hugs and affection from daddies. I can not brag enough on my husband. He is an AMAZING dad! I'm so blessed and so thankful. He is so loving and has the floor time and face time down!! He comes home from work and is exhausted...instead of demanding some "me" time, he jumps right in to be a daddy to his kids. I'm so proud of him. I think the picture Whit paints with gentleness, love, guidance, & protection is such an example of how our Heavenly Daddy loves His kids. Just wanted to publicly brag on him!!
