Update on the Paci!
Well, I figured I should give a little update on the paci...STILL NO PACI! Somewhat of a miracle in our house! Macy has not had her Paci since nap on Thursday and we are surviving. I will say the first two nights it took her an hour and a half talking, singing, yelling from her bed before she finally fell asleep. Then she is waking before seven in the am! Today we went to the pool and she fell asleep on the way home. In the transfer from the car to the bed...guess who woke up. With a paci it was a no brainer...right back to sleep she would go. NOT ANYMORE! We tried to get her to go to sleep for 2 hours! Never happened. 15 minute snooze in the car. Needless to say.. Macy Louise is EXHAUSTED. Tonight she fell asleep in a matter of 5 minutes. I'm praying that this lack of sleep will pass soon! I will say the whining has MAJORLY slowed down!! I think that paci made her 10 times more whiney! At least something is working! Thanks for your fun involvement!

FYI
In regards to my previous post....when trying to get rid of paci, make sure you have found ALL of them! Macy laid in her bed singing for an hour and then got quiet and slept for an hour and 40 minutes. I thought it was too good to be true!! When I went in there after nap, guess what was in her hand!!!! She found one in between her bed rail and her bed! No wonder she slept great! AHHHH...so defeated. I just told her I didn't know it was there and we weren't supposed to have it and I dumped it in the trash...we will see how tonight goes. :)
Bye Bye Paci!
Well today is a BIG day at the Penick household. Something so unimportant is of HUGE importance in our home...we are saying good-bye to the pacifier! I know most parents think that their child is more attached than any other child....but REALLY, Macy is/was VERY attached to her paci. A couple of months ago we got it down to just naptime/bedtime...but today...it is gone FOREVER. We started the morning with a book about saying bye bye and the mommy mailed the paci to the babies that needed it. SO...off I went with that. We got an envelope, addressed it to the babies, Macy got to decorate it, wrote a letter that Macy signed, put the pacifiers in and off to the post office we went. (Actually my Aunt Connie and Macy went) Macy wanted to go with Connie instead of me, w/ I was kind of ok with...thought I may shed a tear or something which would not have helped the situation. The postman was great and even gave her a sucker and a little encouragement. You can see from the pics that she is not too sure about this. Macy went down ok for nap, without any tears and just a little whining. HOWEVER, she has been in her bed for 45 minutes, still not asleep, singing a medley of all of the songs she knows...Little Einsteins, Twinkle Twinkle, Wonder Pets, ABC's....This may be a rough next few days! Please pray for us! :)

Breakfast
I got a little camera happy this morning at breakfast. Thankfully my kiddos are happy campers in the morning. Here are a few that captured the moment. It was Brady's first time in the high chair and Macy was booted from the high chair to a booster seat at the table. She was so excited!
I have been somewhat of a slacker with my second child...poor Brady. So, he is 6 months old next week and today was our first day to do solids. Here are a few pics from his first experience with Rice Cereal. I love the progression!! These are in order.

Weekend at the Farm
Macy, Brady and I spent last weekend at my parent's farm (in Quitman), while Whit was Turkey Hunting in Missouri. It was a weekend full of fun memories. We went into Heber Springs for "Springfest." We watched a parade, played on the playground, ate some REALLY healthy food ( a potato chip ribbon, fried cheese & fried chicken) , and Macy rode a little pony for the first time. Then after a long nap, Macy helped plant squash and roses. Her favorite part was watering them with her new watering can. After that we went to the pond to fish. Brady was just along for the ride. I'm so thankful that Macy & Brady have such a fun place to go and grandparents that want to teach them so many new things. We had a great time!
One of my favorite pics is Macy saluting the veterans at the parade. Enjoy!
